Because we are too damn desperate to be happy.

We all search for happiness all the time.

While walking in college / school,

we all look for a familiar face to talk to,

if we are extrovert, we try our best to be friendly,

if we are introvert, we all hope that someone would come and talk to us,

constantly hoping that we would appear cool, or at least decent.

hoping that whatever we say, would appear relevant to the other party.

we all look around,

praying that we would fit in,

therefore,

sticking with that same few friends,

to ensure security that we would never be left out and be an outcast.

coz at one point in our life,

we have felt that way.

and would do basically anything to avoid it.

that is why, in college,

we would constantly see students from the same country,

sticking 2gether like a gang,

but we can't blame them.

then we realize.

and look around, again.

and wonder why we are so different.

and as we grow and mature, we realize that it doesn't matter if we don't fit in.

it doesn't matter if we are not outstanding.

as long as we are happy.

therefore, we look and hope to fall in love.

we know ( or think ),

by falling in love,

we would be less lonely,

as we can now have someone to depend on,

emotionally,

to trust,

to hang out,

with no pressure to appear cool,

to be accepted.

and so we wait.

and wonder how much longer.

probably the people, who appear the happiest, friendliest, and most outgoing,

are the ones who are sad, and lonely.

but we all thank god.

at least we get a chance to act happy.

we get a chance to hide the struggle that we are facing, and pretend that everything is fine.

why?

because we have a responsibility.

for ourselves, and our parents.

sooner or later,

we thank god if we can put a smile on someone else's face,

rather than just being yourself,

sad and lonely,

and making others feel the negativity.

because well,

some people are just really worth us, putting a show for.

because it sucks even more,

if someone finds out.

point is,

take a moment,

each day and look around.

wonder, and question.

u would be amazed with what you can see.

just a few days ago,

someone from another country,

asked me what time it was.

his watch wasn't working.

mine looked expensive,

feeling shy, he felt the need 2 talk about,

how his watch is cheap and old.

and i told him about how mine is cheap, too.

and i bought it from a night market.

and it doesn't matter.

he nodded his head, and smiled.

anyway,

don't be fussy.

so what if we don't get what we want.

like the great yasmin ahmad said,

i thank god each day for the ability to breath, eat and drink.

stop wanting so much,

and expect less,

and probably u would be less bothered.

and don't correct me.

i know what i am saying.

  1. that is too true. =[ Too true. For me, at least. Seeing Lee and Kim and you the other day somehow made me feel happier, after those sad, lonely days. =/
